My name is Brian N. Burridge. I started my IT career working on non-Internet business applications, but when HTML was first released and the first browser came out, I was hooked for life. I began with Perl and used Oracle web procedures and a number of other proprietary web development platforms, before getting into Java via JSP when it reached the .92 specification.
I have worked on web sites for Cox Target Media (Valpak), IBM, J. Butler, Carolina Panthers, Lucent Technologies, World Color, National Geographic, National School Board Administration, John O Butler, Genevan Institute for Reformed Studies, and many others. I’ve worked in many different capacities, from the obvious web development, to business analysis and requirements gathering with the client, graphic design consulting, user interface design, J2EE architecture, content management, development management and process improvement.
Currently I work as a contractor, and am enjoying the challenges of varying projects. I am constantly learning (otherwise, what’s the point!?).
When I’m not working, I mostly enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids. I also enjoy martial arts (1st degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and ranked in Jujitsu and Philipino Stick Fighting), improving my home network and home automation system (X10, Tivo w/HME, etc), watching TV and movies, and working around the house.
